Rebuilding School in Anse-A-Veau: We started stage one!
Rebuilding For a Brighter Future:

In early 2017 Fleur De Vie was introduced to our first partnering school in the southern region of Haiti. Ecole Jeannoue Foyer D’Eden was hit by a natural disaster months before when Hurricane Matthew made landfall in Haiti on October 2016. The very fragile structure was completely wiped out when the school just started the calendar year. The community worked together to build a temporary building so that the kids could continue their education. When we came to visit the space, the dilapidated structure made of tarps, plywood, and tin roof completely surprised us. It was at that time Fleur De Vie agreed to help rebuild the school to a proper learning environment for the students.
On August 14, 2021, this same space was hit by a 7.2 earthquake. It made what was left of the structure even more vulnerable to the kids. With a growing population (450 students), coupled with the security issues in the capital and not enough schools for this age group in the community; the need to rebuild a safe learning environment is even greater.
Fleur De Vie is committed to rebuilding this safe environment and we hope you will join us.
Earthquake Relief:

August 14, 2021 a 7.2 earthquake hit the southern region of Haiti. Fleur De Vie immediately mobilized resources and had a container of clean water delivered and distributed throughout the region by our on the ground partners, Rotaract Club of Haiti. The community of our partnering school in Anse A Veau was also affected which made starting the school year delay opening. We sponsored financial stipends for our teachers and distributed tents to those whose homes were affected.
Months later we returned with a distribution of family health kits and clean water to all students, teachers, parents, and families of our partnering school.
COVID-19 Response:

Fleur De Vie collaborated with long time partners and donors to respond to the global COVID19 pandemic with a strategy that impacted those vulnerable on the ground in Haiti.
Job Creation: Through job creation by producing over 6000 face covers in a local workshop.
Raising awareness: By teaming up with radio talk show host, Carel Pedre of Chokarella, we hosted a special segment on prevention featuring Dr. Dieudonne Jean Baptist and child psychologist Melodie Benjamin.
PPE Accessibility: We distributed face masks to the students and parents of our partnering schools and with the help of the members of the Rotaract Club of Haiti, a distribution of masks was done throughout different regions in Haiti.
